Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 OLED 45″ Reviews, Pros and Cons

By KitGuru

A 45in, 240Hz OLED ultrawide is as good as it sounds. We’re not sure how many people would end up using the flex mechanism on a regular basis, but we have to hand it to Corsair – this is brilliantly bonkers!

The Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 is a PC gaming monitor from the future. LG’s gorgeous 240Hz OLED packs a killer combination of contrast and motion performance that will be hard to beat through 2023. Cutting-edge tech often comes with a catch, however, and the Xeneon Flex is no exception. The flexible display’s operation could be (much) smoother, and it’s permanently attached to a mediocre monitor stand. It’s pricey, too, at $2,000.

Waiting for the big-screen monitor that really delivers on the promise of OLED tech? This isn’t it. The Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 suffers from all-too-apparent brightness limitations, while the resolution and pixel density are a very hard sell at this price point. Likewise, the flexible panel tech isn’t exactly a game changer. The pixel response is fantastic and with the right HDR content the Xeneon Flex does have obvious advantages over LCD displays. But much more often it lacks anything like the wow factor the premium price and OLED panel tech would have you hoping for.

The Xeneon Flex’s $1,999 price may be out of range for most gamers, but it’s cheaper and bigger than LG’s competing OLED Flex. Sure, you have to flex this one manually, which takes a little getting used to. Some may still find LG’s curved-only 45-inch UltraGear OLED that sells for $300 less to be a more alluring deal, but getting a custom curve with Corsair’s model won’t cost you much more.

Hands on: The bendable OLED panel of Corsair’s 45-inch Xeneon Flex gaming monitor is a showstopper, but it remains to be seen if this innovative monitor is more than the sum of its (curved) parts.
